During surgery for heart valve repair, I suffered a stroke, followed by heart failure shortly after. This curtailed my work life and main hobbies, but there is always hope!

At secondary school, I was considered a bit of an artist and was advised to apply for Art College. However, the idea fizzled away, and my parents advised me to “get a proper job!” I dabbled in oil painting when I could find the time, but now I have another chance to develop a long-forgotten ability.

I mainly paint original watercolour pictures of Dartmoor. It brings me great pleasure, and I intend to continue. I have also painted portraits using oils in the past and hope to return to and develop this aspect in the future.
