Ever since I was a child I have always owned a camera of one sort or other, from the cast off Kodak Instamatic through the fads of disk cameras and fixed focus point and shoot cameras.  It was only after I inherited a 35mm SLR did I start to take what I would term proper photos.  I honed my craft at the local camera club, submitting pictures to their competitons for critical appraisal by often brutal judges.  I used this to learn and improve and develop my skills and knowledge.

I now work soley in digital using a full frame digital SLR and high speed lenses to capture the world in the best detail posible.  I still make mistakes and worry that I'm not good enough, but to look back on my work and to see it out there in the world being appreciated by others validates it all for me.
